Supporting Our Players, Enhancing Our Facilities, Growing Our Community

At Wyandotte Braves, we’re committed to providing the best possible baseball and softball experience for our young athletes. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, donors, and volunteers, we have made significant improvements to our fields, equipment, and facilities over the years.

Below is a list of our recent accomplishments and ongoing projects—investments that directly impact the safety, enjoyment, and development of our players.


Recent Accomplishments & Ongoing Projects

2024

  • Pulaski Concession Revamp – Fully gutted and redesigned interior with new electrical, plumbing, storage, work surfaces, and a restroom.

2023

  • Deep cleaned and repainted Pulaski Public Restrooms.
  • Replaced a large portion of our team equipment to ensure players have safe, high-quality gear.

2022

  • Extended fencing at Pulaski Fields 2, 3, and 4 for improved spectator protection and to keep play within the field.

2021

  • Field 4 Upgrades – Cemented dugout floors, added fencing, gates, and dugout roofs.
  • Field 4 Drainage & Surface Improvements – Red clay, new base pegs, and grading for better water runoff.

2017 - 2019

  • Replaced significant portions of team equipment, including catcher’s gear, bats, and bases.
  • Partnered with the Wyandotte School Board to update Wilson Middle School’s baseball and softball fields.


2016

  • Major Pulaski Park Field Updates – Cemented dugout floors, added protective fencing, gates, and dugout roofs to Fields 1, 2, and 3.
  • Purchased Kawasaki Mule & Rascal Pro Infield Groomer to improve field maintenance.
  • Launched Fall Baseball – Added a second season to meet demand, with 19 teams in its inaugural year.
  • Expanded concession offerings, adding ice cream and slushies.


2015

  • Updated VFW and FOP High School Softball field with new grading and red clay.
  • Purchased field conditioner (same product used at Comerica Park) and applied it to Pulaski softball #1 and baseball #2


2014

  • Updated Field #3 at Pulaski (softball) – field grading improving drainage, sod, red clay, base pegs, mound.


2013

  • Updated Field #2 at Pulaski (hardball): field grading, improved drainage, sod, red clay, base pegs, mound, home plate, and on-deck circles.
  • Purchased a used tractor, racks, brooms, and shovels for field maintenance.
  • Attended field maintenance training at Comerica Park, led by Detroit Tigers groundskeeper manager Heather Nabozny.
  • Purchased a sound system for tournaments and playoffs.
  • Added a water source to Pulaski field #1 to assist in field upkeep.
  • Big Al’s coaches training: Brought in a professional trainer to teach coaches how to coach and purchased media for annual refresher training.


2012

  • Updated Field #1 at Pulaski – field grading improving drainage, sod, red clay, base pegs, mound.
  • Re-opened concession at Pulaski Park.  Added refrigerators, freezers, hot cheese, and popcorn.
  • Added a parade through the city on opening day.
  • Purchased temporary home run fences (used for tournaments and playoffs)

Ongoing & Future Projects

At Wyandotte Braves Baseball & Softball Association, we are committed to the continuous improvement of our facilities and the equipment that supports our players and coaches. From field upkeep to ongoing equipment refresh, our focus remains on providing a top-notch experience for everyone involved.

Ongoing Equipment Refresh, Field Upkeep and Enhancements

  • Regular Equipment Maintenance: We continue to refresh and maintain all team equipment, including bats, balls, catcher’s gear, and more, ensuring that players have safe, reliable tools to perform at their best.
  • Field Maintenance & Upkeep: Our fields are regularly assessed and maintained to ensure optimal playing conditions. This includes grading, repairing turf, and managing drainage systems to keep the fields safe and playable year-round.
  • Concession Window Upgrades: We are exploring improvements to the concession windows.
  • Facility Improvements: We are committed to maintaining and upgrading our facilities, ensuring that dugouts, benches, and spectator areas are safe, clean, and welcoming. Regular improvements are made to keep our environment comfortable and appealing for both players and families.
