Wyandotte Braves Baseball and Softball

May 15, 2020 update

Due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and new pediatric multisystem inflammatory syndrome (PMIS) affecting children, The Wyandotte Braves Executive Board has made a very difficult and devastating decision to cancel the 2020 season and Opening Day Raffle. This decision was made to protect the safety and well-being of our players, coaches, umpires, parents and spectators.

At this point, please be patient with us, we will be processing over 500 refund checks, so this will take us some time.

We do apologize for any inconvenience regarding the Opening Day Raffle, but whatever money collected for tickets sold must be returned to the buyer.

Looking forward to seeing you all for the 2021 Season.

Stay safe and healthy,

Stephen Oborne- President of The Wyandotte Braves Baseball and Softball Association

April 4, 2020 update

Due to the COVID-19 and Governor Gretchen Whitmer issuing Executive Order 2020-21 (Stay at Home-Stay Safe) we, the Wyandotte Braves, have to follow this order as well.

As for right now the season is still on, we are going to go ahead and draft our teams by utilizing video or another source of technology, depending on the capabilities that our coaches have. We are going to try fulfilling all requests that were made at the time your child registered, please do not try on go online and make requests now, because we have already printed out the requests and will not be accepting anymore at this time. Once the teams are drafted, your child's coach will notify you, basically just giving you their contact information, all practices are cancelled until we get the all clear from our Governor.

I've had a meeting with all the communities involved with SEBA (SouthEastern Baseball Association) and we have decided, if we get the all clear by May 16th, we will start that day whether or not there has been any practices. If we have not received the all clear before May 16th, we will have to delay our start. If are delayed for a couple of weeks we will be adding games on some Fridays and Saturdays, we do not want to extend the year due to Little League Football starting in August, so please be prepared for these changes.

The Wyandotte Braves are going to do everything possible to get this season in, including ordering uniforms to make sure things are ready to go once we get the all clear. If we have to cancel the season, the Wyandotte Braves will issue everyone a refund check for the cost of registration (raffle will still be held as a facebook live event and the winners will be notified and listed on the website).  If this does happen, please be patient there are nearly 500 checks to write. Note: All uniforms that were ordered will be kept by the Braves and be utilized next year.

I personally would like to extended my well-wishes, health and safety to you all,

Stephen Oborne- President of the Wyandotte Braves Baseball and Softball Association
